On Sunday 10th of July 2016 we celebrated our first Messy Church baptism.

Our theme was the baptism of Jesus. The families enjoyed lots of baptism related crafts and activities, including, making doves from cut outs of their hand prints and a collage of John baptising Jesus. Our cooking craft was a cup and saucer made from a biscuit, a marshmallow and some lovely sticky icing!

The Baptism took place in Church at the beginning of the worship time. Abi and her brother Sam went first, followed by the children, Dani and Poppy. The whole Messy Church congregation supported the family, who having been coming to Messy Church for the last year or so. We ended the service with a time of prayer, praying particularly for those in need of healing.

This was such a special occasion that was enjoyed by everyone, especially the children, some of whom had not seen a baptism before. Our hope and prayer is that more families will be able to come to baptism this way, through Messy Church.

Our Messy Church is held on the second Sunday of the month at 4pm until 6pm.
